Honor Among Thieves FAQs
Technically, these aren't frequently asked questions, but I'll answer them nonetheless. XP - "Honor Among Thieves"?
- Be patient and read the comic. You'll understand the title in time.
- When does the comic update?
- Weekly, meaning you get a page a week.
- What genre is this comic? What's it about?
- Fantasy/Romance. It's a story about a boy and a girl in a fantastical situation. It's their story above anything else.
- So it's cheap wish fulfillment. Lame!
- If you want, yes. Don't take it so seriously. It's just a comic. ;)
- What program do you make your comics in?
- I use Alias Sketchbook Pro to sketch out the pages first, inking and coloring them in Photoshop CS3. I also make good use of my Wacom Cintiq 15X (an older model, but it suits me just fine!).
- Will you make a tutorial on how you make your comics?
- Maybe someday. I used to draw everything by hand, scan it in to the computer, and use Photoshop to finalize it, but nowadays almost all of my work is done entirely on the computer, from sketch to finish.
- Do you use a script?
- The first incarnation of the story did not use a script; we can see where THAT got me. I'm planning everything out ahead of time now.
- "First incarnation"?
- I actually started up HaT in 2007, but due to poor planning and a general lack of skill, the comic fell apart after 14 pages. I might release those pages someday, but certainly not anywhere in the near future. They sucked anyway, you're not missing much.
- Why the funky capitalization of "HaT," anyway? Shouldn't it be "HAT"?
- That's a carryover from my first mildly "successful" website, Kaffeen @ Shooger (I made it when I was 12, shut up). I shortened the name to K@S or, at times, KaS. Even though I discontinued the site when I was 14, I still have that habit when I shorten Honor Among Thieves.
- What's with you and thieves?
- I blame Oblivion. I'm a big RPG gamer. I never cared much for the rogue classes before (I'm more of a sorceress type), but then I joined the Dark Brotherhood (assassin guild) on a whim one day and I was hooked. It's just a thrill to play as a character who skulks about in the shadows and can take out an opponent from a distance before they even know what hit them.
- Where's your forum?
- Don't have one. If there's enough demand for one, I might start one up, but at the time it's far too much trouble.
- Can I send you fanart?
- Ooh, would you? :D Please do! Send it right here.
- Can it be... mature in nature?
- Sure, why not? ;)
- Will you draw something for me?
- More likely than not, no. No offense, it's just that I've got enough of my own art and projects going on at any given time.
- Any closing advice?
